About the album in her own words:

The making of “The Search for Life Within” has been accompanied by my journey towards finding inner peace during these unsettling times. The songs capture small, almost random moments from these life-changing one and a half years, which might seem like a short time for making an album, but at the same time can be so life-changing. I made sure to capture the present moments as honestly as possible, being open to the “imperfections” of the moment - trembling in my voice, someone entering the studio during recording, some spontaneous reactions/thoughts in between takes.

The Search for Life Within is the second solo-album by Maris.
The debut mini-album "What Have You Become?" released in February 2021 was greeted with very positive responses by listeners and critics and was also nomineted for the "Debut Album of the Year" at Estonian Music Awards 2022.
